Dylan Dreyer, one of the hosts of the beloved morning show TODAY, has officially bid farewell to another show.
The meteorologist, who recently faced backlash, has decided to take a break from one of her many roles at NBC.
On Friday morning, Dreyer took to Instagram to announce that she has wrapped up filming for Earth Odyssey. She posted: “Wrapping SEASON 7 (! ! ! ) of @nbcearthodyssey with a very special guest! @raewynngrant of @wildkingdomtv fame! Thanks to @omahazoo and @mutualofomaha for hosting us! ! @aaroneldinbauer you’re the best and no one does my hair better than @getrusso_ ! ! I love this team! !” Dreyer has been presenting the documentary series since 2019.
According to the show’s website, she “takes viewers on an incredible journey to the wildest points of the globe, uncovering the connection between the environment, wildlife and human beings of exotic locales.”

While she takes a break from the set, she is dipping her toes into Wild Kingdom, another nature series on NBC. Rae Wynn-Grant commented under her post: “It was AMAZING filming with you Dylan! Can’t wait to have you on @wildkingdomtv.”
In addition to her role at Earth Odyssey, Dreyer is also a TODAY weather forecaster and regular on the morning show’s 3rd hour. She has been part of the cast since 2012 when she joined Weekend Today.
Alongside her duties at NBC, she has authored five children’s books, with her latest, A Peek Out Your Window, released earlier this year.
In a candid chat with Hello, she confessed that penning a book was never in her original game plan.
She divulged: “I never really thought about a children’s book… but my husband and I come up with crazy little stories and it came from one of those.”
It was during her stint at the network where she crossed paths with her now-husband Brian Fichera, an NBC News producer and cameraman.
The dynamic duo also team up for their SiriusXM radio show, Lunch Date with Dylan and Brian.
The pair are proud parents to three lads: Rusty, Ollie, and Calvin. It was her bustling household that nudged her to step away from TODAY’s weekend slot two years ago.
She’s previously expressed: “I’m 100 percent committed to my job and I love it, but I also love my family and want to be with them, too.”
When it comes to juggling work and home life, she’s openly admitted that her plate is full to the brim.
“I think I’ve maxed out now,” Dreyer has acknowledged.
